Psychology meets design
Typical environments are created with little consideration for the emotions they will evoke in those who either work or reside there. My approach is to integrate environmental psychology into interior design in order to create spaces where people can work and live their best lives with intention.
Ask yourself, why do you feel uneasy when you walk into a dentist office? Is it the sound of the drill, bright lights, or the horrible paint on the walls? The smell of disinfectant? Or the sad plastic plant in the corner? Have you ever wondered why spas make you relaxed as soon as you walk in? It can be difficult to pinpoint why certain spaces make us feel good, while others leave us feeling sad and tired.
Through analysis of space, lighting, color, acoustics and human behavior I will work with you to get the most out of your house or workplace. If you have a design project you would like to thoughtfully revamp please contact me for a consultation.
